“From the moment we met, Klaus’s calm presence and quiet confidence stood out. He has that rare ability to make you feel completely safe and at ease. His knowledge runs deep, and it’s clear he’s spent countless hours in the water. But what really sets him apart is how intuitively he adapts to your current skill level. Klaus reads where you’re at — physically and mentally — and tailors the training to help you grow in the best way possible. There was never pressure, only encouragement. On the last day I hit 30 meters, and it felt like everything clicked — my breathing, equalization, mindset — and Klaus was right there, calm and steady, guiding me every step of the way. It was an unforgettable moment I’ll carry with me forever.”

“Yesterday I attended a freediving course with KlausSimonsen.com at Knudsø. My goal was to find more calm in the water — to dive deeper and hold my breath longer… and I found that calm! The experience made me want to explore that inner stillness even more, because it was truly amazing. I was a bit nervous before the course, wondering if I could reach 20 meters and how I’d handle the dark water — because the lake can be quite dark. The day started on land with stretching, relaxation, and breathing exercises. It was the perfect introduction and helped me find calm before getting in the water. The day was divided into introduction, dives, lunch, dives, and evaluation — and it all worked perfectly. I struggled a bit with equalizing head-down, so I pulled myself down the line feet first, taking pauses to equalize properly. I reached about 9.8 meters and held my breath for almost a minute — KAPOW! In conclusion: I found calm, I wanted more, and I had a fantastic day. I can highly recommend taking a course with KlausSimonsen.com and Klaus Simonsen.”

"I had such an amazing first freediving experience with Klaus. He was incredibly patient and calm, which really helped because I’m someone who tends to get anxious. From the start, he gave me the space to take things at my own pace and never made me feel rushed or pressured. His calm grounded energy really helped me relax, and by the end of the day, I reached a goal I didn’t think I’d be able to achieve so soon. I’m honestly so grateful I started my freediving journey with him. I discovered something that makes me feel calm and peaceful, and I’m really looking forward to continuing and learning more. Thank you, Klaus!"

“I can only give my warmest recommendations to Klaus and FreedivingDenmark. I spent a week with Klaus, completing a perfectly tailored and rewarding AIDA 2 Crossover and AIDA 3 program. Klaus is highly skilled, and I experienced great recognition of his abilities from other freedivers in Dahab — everyone knows Klaus. On top of that, he’s an incredibly kind and pleasant person, and besides all the freediving knowledge I gained, I also had great company throughout the week — which means a lot when you travel alone. Thank you for an amazing week, Klaus. I look forward to coming back one day and wish you all the best moving forward!”

“Since I wanted to make earning my SSI Level 2 certification a real experience, I chose to do it through KlausSimonsen.com — which included a trip to Dahab, Egypt, where I truly got to explore freediving in its purest form. I was the only student on the trip, which meant constant personal feedback and a fully tailored experience. I felt part of the freediving community there, and everyone was so kind and welcoming. The course itself was excellent — with some fantastic water sessions with Klaus. In just two days, he helped me progress from 20 meters to 30 meters with complete comfort. Later, I reached my personal best of 41 meters and couldn’t be happier! Klaus helped me crack the code of relaxation and composure in the water. The many ‘safari dives’ on Dahab’s amazing coral reefs made me more playful and comfortable in the water — something that directly improved my line diving. The only small ‘minus’ was a little hiccup with the airport pickup — but once I got hold of Klaus, it all worked out, and it just became part of the adventure. I can warmly recommend his courses! ”

“Last Saturday I joined my first freediving course — a depth course with KlausSimonsen.com in Knudsø. I didn’t feel fully ready mentally that day and had some fears about dark lakes, which didn’t make things easier. Our instructor, Klaus, was very calm and helped us relax by starting with breathing and relaxation exercises on land, followed by a review of theory, technique, and safety. When we reached the buoy, I could still feel a little unease about the dark water. After the first few warm-up dives, I noticed the water turning darker after 8–10 meters. Klaus gave me some technical points to focus on — chin position, finning technique, and equalization rhythm. We did a rescue exercise around 7 meters and I had several comfortable dives between 10–14 meters. As the day went on, I relaxed more and more into the discipline. Toward the end of the day I was physically tired, but mentally ready. I descended slowly, equalizing calmly and focusing only on my technique. Around 8 meters, I began to free fall — completely relaxed, with nothing on my mind except equalization. It felt wonderful to drift down smoothly through the water. Suddenly I was at the bottom plate at 16 meters, and it actually felt like it came too soon. Slowly ascending again, I kept the same calm mindset and surfaced with a big smile. It was by far the best dive I’ve ever had. I didn’t reach the 20 meters I had hoped for, but it didn’t matter — I achieved something much more important: the mental calm that’s the foundation of deep freediving. I learned a lot about freediving that day, and about what I need to develop further. And I also learned that freediving without a speargun is pretty great too. Thank you to Klaus from KlausSimonsen.com for an excellent course in truly safe hands.”
